Yeah, that’s actually a really stupid contract.

Yankees clearly tired of missing out on players last several years

Btw Nomar Mazara was just traded to the White Sox in a deal no one cares about right now.

You would think that teams will have learned not to give pitchers contracts like these anymore.

I really believe that they will be trying to unload this ridiculous contract by year 5. And then by year 6, they’ll be paying him ACE money for a MOR type pitcher.

I can’t believe Yankee fans are happy about this. Gerrit is the best in the game and as a Houston fan, we were able to enjoy a lot of his talent for a couple years. But I’m so glad they don’t have to be wrapped up in this kind of contract for almost a decade. Completely insane.

Apparently LAA are going all in on Rendon. Didn’t see that posted so apologies if it has been.

The market for Boyd and others gonna heat up. Ryu and Bumgarner can not each get 18-25 million

You're such a drama queen when it comes to your Dodgers. There's talent on the farm, depth at the MLB level, and all you're missing is a starter and a reliever that can be had during the season if not addressed prior to the season. You guys are going to be just fine.

Scherzer got 7/210 going into his age 30 season

Two Cys, a 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place finish, WS,
1k innings later and I’d say they are pretty pleased

Verlander was same age as Cole is now when he got his big deal
Greinke was 31 when he accepted his deal

The more and more I think about the Mazara trade the more it makes zero sense. We were trying to get rid of LH OF’s and traded him for one that is close in age, but in AA.

I’m certain Maz becomes badass now.

At least I’ll always have his big chill shirt I guess.

He was virtually given away. Something has to be brewing. Let's see how fat this offer to Rendon is going to be.

In four seasons, he hasn’t posted a WAR over 1 or a wRC+ over 100. Maybe he figures it out eventually, but seems like the Rangers are sick of waiting on it.
