Catcher Travis d’Arnaud is headed to the Atlanta Braves on a two-year, $16M deal. Atlanta has made three of the four free agent signings this winter and now guaranteed $69 million to d’Arnaud, Will Smith and Chris Martin. A nice start to the winter for the Braves.

Atlanta making moves
All though that is less than I thought he would get. Assumed he would get 10-12 a year

Has it been mentioned that the White Sox put gold glove 2B Yolmer Sanchez on outright waivers?

Slashed .252/.318/.321 lmao.

Don't they have like 3-4 prospects at 2B? The guy could play D but not really do much with the bat. Ah he was set to make 6 million in arbitration

Lots of minor moves today, Austin Romine may be the best catcher left on the market

Right-hander Kyle Gibson and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a three-year, $30 million deal, sources tell ESPN.

It’s the first move in what’s expected to be a very busy winter for the Rangers as they head into their new stadium. They need pitching. Gibson is first step.

I like this move. If the Rangers can manage to find a lead dog, it has the makings of a competitive rotation.

I can see an Odor/Myers deal happening btw the Rangers and Padres.

Minor, Lynn, and now Gibson if they all pitch like last year that is a decent enough trio to compete for the Wild Card. Then they picked up a useful bullpen piece in Goody as well

The focus will rightfully be on Urias, but Lauer improves Milwaukee's rotation, which could be more impactful.

This has no bearing on this thread at all, but the other day I learned that Whit Merrifield has a brother named Hite that plays baseball at Wake Forest.

They have a sister named Costner.

Their parents are apparently on drugs.

Oh so the two guys who finished in the top 8 of Cy Young voting aren’t considered top guys?
