What the hell does the 80s have to do with anything? The Cubs sucked arse all through the 90s. The best part about the 90s was Mark Grace, the 98 season and Kerry Wood whiffing 20.
The Cubs also sucked for most of the 2010 years.

The point is that cubs fans have a long history of overreacting to the start of the season. Whether they were good or bad the year before. And the long history is of them being bad but the fans still are ridiculous.

is that number of years from inception to world series your barometer for more successful history? Cubs were founded in 1876 and won the NL pennant 6 times in the first decade. So you don't even have that claim.
