Everyone was sliding past the bases tonight. The Cajuns had several players slide past the bag and get tagged out.

Right, I’m not putting any stock into Lamar and George Washington. I fully expected to win all 5.

Not buying the Waves 5-0 start until we see what happens this weekend. Jewett has been a joke thus far - hoping for the best though.

Watching the twitter video...is the infield at LaTech turf? If so there is a big difference between wet and dry turf when sliding. It looked bad, but he did start his slide before the bag and in the baseline. That's a tough call to make for an umpire, and one you're not going to get if multiple runners have slid past the base due to wet turf throughout the game.

Breaking: UL LHP Gunner Leger will not start Friday night at Sam Houston State State. Cajuns spokesman said reason is "rest" and that no injury or re-injury is involved. He will be ready to throw March 1 vs. Maryland, spokesman said. Austin Perrin will start instead at SHSU.

Not good.

I think that this has a lot to do with the rain in the forecast. Weekend could be rained out.

I know this isn't relevant to Louisiana schools, but St Peter's just needs to give up baseball. They were the school that had the ridiculous losing streak.

They're playing 0-3 George Washington right now for their first game of the year. GW put up a 10 spot in the first inning.

It's the bottom of the 2nd now, and they've walked 9 guys and hit 3 others.

George Washington was the team Tulane swept last weekend. They are fricking garbage, lost the first two games on throwing errors.

They got 3 hits and scored 10 runs. That's so awful. I bet clown arse St Peters is one of the schools that always votes against a paid 3rd assistant and increasing scholarships.

Garbage. Sienna and Iona should shut down their programs since they lost to that sorry arse team last year.

I don't know what's more embarassing: being St. Peter's, or being a team that lost to St. Peter's.

It's baseball, so anything can happen on any day. So I don't fault lower level teams for accidentally dropping one to them.

But their losing streak was a statistical improbability. That they are as bad as they are and have been for as long as they have is just terrible.

Is st. Peter's the one that basically tanked one of UL's seasons thanks to their basement level RPI?

Down goes Ole Miss, 13-12. David Bedgood with a pinch hit 2 run walkoff HR for Tulane.

Other teams in action right now: ULL up 3-1 on Sam Houston in the 6th. La Tech and Troy tied at 3 in the 6th. SELA down 7-4 in the 8th. UNO defeated Rutgers 7-2. Nicholls, LSU, McNeese, and NWST will play tonight
