At the rate Brees was playing if he hadn't missed 6 games he would have 45 TDs, 5000 yards, 6 ints, and close to a 120 qb rating in a full season

Keep crying

And still would have been, at best, 2nd Team All-Pro.

Drew Brees' backup also beat Russell Wilson

Collins and Shelton robbed as well

Collins faded hard, and Shelton is basically just a run stuffer.

You're clueless if you think Drew would be second team with 45 TDs, 5000 yards, and a 120 rating.

All else equal, he would be.
Now if those extra yards and TDs would have translated to one more win, and a #1 seed. Then yeah.

And before you tell me it shouldn't matter, it clearly does. That's a separate discussion.

Team went 8-3 with him and 5-0 without him.

Lamar went 12-3, had the most passing tds, only member of the 3k1k club, 6th in the league in rushing yards, the 2nd highest TD% in the last 40 years, and the highest Approx. Value in NFL history.

But yeah sure little Andrew deserved second team - despite getting outplayed by Ryan fricking Tannehill.

Your perpetual melt and salty tears truly bring a smile to my face. Proof Brees' greatness has rustled your jimmies knowing your favorite QBs will forever be second rate to him

Cry more

Yea, I'm thoroughly confused by Mathieu at 2nd team Safety and 1st team Defensive Back.

heres how.
People vote.
Votes are counted.
Whomever won won.
Some players won at two positions. Tyrann was 2nd in safety and first at db.

Not so hard now, huh?

Even if we say that Brees only played 10 games and count the limited time in the Rams game as a missing game, he was on pace for 43 TDs and about 4700 yards with a passer rating of 116.3.

That being said, those 6 teams had a better average team defensive passer rating (88.9) than the 10 teams he played (93.2) with 4 of those 6 games would have been on the road. And his passer rating on the road for his career is 11.1 points worse than at home (92.8 vs. 103.9) and albeit with a small sample size was a similar 9.5 points worse on the road (110.2 vs. 119.7). So I think it was unlikely that he would perform as his season levels given those cirumstances, let alone the 45/5000/120 levels in your post.

Regardless, even if he met his season averages, Lamar didn't play in 1 game, and still had 43 total touchdowns and 4333 total yards. That would have put him on pace for over 4600 total yards and almost 46 touchdowns which would be less tha 100 fewer yards than Drew with 2 more TDs.

In addition, Lamar's passer rating was only 3 points worse than Drew's (113.3 vs. 116.3) but his QBR was about 7 points better (81.1 vs. 71.4) playing against slightly better competition (opponent SRS average of 0.03 for Lamar and -0.39 for Drew's 10 opponents with the 6 missed opponents had a 0.78 average) with a slighly better offense (33.5 PPG in Lamar's 15 games vs. 32.4 in Drew's 10 games) and a better winning percentage (86.7% in Lamar's 15 games vs. 80.0% in Drew's 10 games).

So on top of how Lamar's historical season unfolded (rushing and passing), the pro-rated stats are extremely close and the team stats favor Lamar. Therefore, while I think it would have been coser, I still think Lamar would fairly comfortable end up as the 1st team All-Pro and MVP with Drew finishing 2nd in both.

If we are prorating everyone’s stats, Jackson is still first team and Tannehill is second team.
