you like watching golden state and bama win every year too?
You act like they are Uconn in women's basketball. It's not that bad.

you get all that from them reducing the size of the teams? um ok...
Actually I got it from some podcasts with former pro riders discussing the effects.

no, i acted like they are similar to GS and Bama. Has Sky not had a similar run over recent history? I'd have to say Sky has won the last 20 tours to insinuate "UConn in womens basketball"

A writer at Velonews who has picked Froome every year since 2013 says he won't win this year.
Commentary: Froome won’t win the Tour anyway
I thought this was interesting:
Commentary: Froome won’t win the Tour anyway
I thought this was interesting:

Movistar’s Nairo Quintana torpedoed his chances of Tour contention in 2017 by attempting the Giro-Tour double. He came up short in Italy, and then was clearly lacking in France. Lesson learned. Quintana is all in for the Tour this year, and he showed at the Tour de Suisse that he is bringing his climbing legs to the fight. Some cycling observers seem to have already written him off thanks to his repeated failures in his quest for yellow — but only just now in 2018 has Quintana reached the age that Froome was when the Briton won his first Tour de France.

I wish they had the speeds displayed. I always find it amazing to see how effortless these guys make it look to go 28mph or more.

Froome down hard prior to sprint. Richie too. Some 50 seconds back.

Didn’t see that one. Will have to look at replays.

I see where he went off the road too. Lots of falls in this stage. Quintana punctured and Yates was a victim also I see.

Froome already a minute-plus back after a flat stage on day 1?
obviously it was b/c of the wreck... but now he's got to make that up somewhere

They will make it up on Stage 3. Quintana is done already.

1 of the broadcast guys said they expect Froome to lose more time on the cobblestone stage and that he didn't know if he'd be able to make that up in the mountains

I heard what Bob Rolle said as well. But I think British Postal/Discovery has a plan to get through them. If it rains then it may blow it up.

The guy that benefits the most from today imho was Fuglsang. He has improved dramatically in time trials, can climb quite well, and can handle the cobbles. His issue was always going to be the team time trial but this minute gap he gained today mitigates that issue quite a bit. He was a dark horse from the start but I feel today's result puts him legitimately in the mix.

They are screwed no matter what they have 3 leaders on an 8 man team. Quintana won’t soldier for anyone.
