Kyrgios doing dirty things to Nadal

Kyrgios embarrassed Nadal. If only he could be more consistent.

Why doesn't the US have any male tennis stars?
Also, Isner needs to learn how to dress...makes us look bad.

Halep playing to become #1 for the first time and loses 6-1, 6-0 lulz.

Kyrgios has no fight. Things weren't coming easy for him today. So at 4-6, 4 all he basically threw the match. For as talented as he is, he is a disgrace to the sport.

tl/dr time
Good for Grigor, nice to see him win. The guy is so smooth to watch in person.
My only regret this weekend was not seeing pride's boys on Saturday. Everything went well after having 7 of the top 10 withdraw and Zverev losing early on in the tournament.
I was freaking out seeing all of the delays on Thursday following on my phone. The funny thing is there was not a drop of rain from the Detroit area until we hit the northern Cincinnati suburbs. I was hoping they would make players double up on Friday, which they did.
The next thing I melted down about is they decided to pack four matches on Friday afternoon. I'm thinking, even if I get to see Rafa, it could be starting at like midnight or later. And, of course, Mug and Kuznetsova open up with a three hour match. Now, its like 2:00, and still 3 men's matches and a women's match have to be played before Rafa plays at night. Luckily, Rafa got it going after a rough start against Ramos-Vinolas, Grigor beat the crap out of his Japanese guy, and Isner straight-setted Donaldson.
So, walking to the grounds I tried to wave down an event staff cart to haul my pops and the chick driving it ignores me. I'm like WTF. Well, it had the Bryan Brothers on it. I crept to watch a few minutes of the boys from the front row, then went to Konta/Halep. Everything was going smoothly with Halep at 6-4, 5-3, serving at double match point. Then, she starts missing every first serve and Konta was teeing off on those 66 mph meatballs. Konta fought off 6 match points and even had a couple of break points of her own. Luckily, Halep got through it in straights.
I think midnightvibe goes overboard sometimes with the Kyrgios love, but seeing the guy on his game overpower Rafa was striking. It felt like it was never in doubt, other than maybe when Rafa broke to get it 5-5 in the second.
Isner's game is repulsive to watch in person and I found myself wanting to fistfight fans trying to will him to a third set. I said to my family midway through the first set that it was going to be three tiebreaks. I was prepared to walk the grounds for the third set and come back for the breaker. Thank God that Grigor got it done in two sets. At least it was a great second set tiebreak. I bailed on Stephens/Halep, which was apparently the right call.
So, I got to see The Great Great Rafael Nadal; the good version of Kyrgios take the racquet out of his hands; the best doubles team ever; 1,2,6, and 7 on the women's side, including Euro class (Mug) vs Euro trash (Pliskova); Baby Fed; and even stopped to watch from the front row a little of Ferrer practicing as I was walking out of the grounds. That is a great weekend.

I hadn't been paying attention to the doubles draw, but then their names popped out at me when I saw the schedule on the electronic updates boards in the middle of the grounds. I was just too lazy to pop over there once I got set in the stadium.

Great write-up. I still haven't watched that match. Did Rafa appear to be in poor form?

I think Rafa was just a little tired from playing twice that day. Nick did, too, but his earlier match was against Dr. Ivo. It did occur to me that I was watching a sign of things to come in the form of a young guy pushing around an aging vet. But, Rafa might have beaten him in a five set match. The only point of concern for Rafa fans is Nick broke him four times, but Nick couldn't break Ferrer or Grigor once. That might just be a case of Nick getting up for Rafa.

His light blue shirt is awesome. But, I think the clothing people need to slim up his gear because everything is so baggy. The Bass Pro Shops sticker on the hat shows he is a good old baw.

Not awesome:
his returns of the dude's serve made it so blatant. LINK
