Suck it up, pussy. When Detroit was in the west, it was brutal when they had weeknight playoff games in places like San Jose and you're living on east coast time.

blew a 4-1 lead and would have been back in the series. geez.
looks like they are done like the hawks. trashville getting some payback on chicago for past playoff defeat. we are about to have 3 sweeps in the west. the wild are done also.

Guys, this morning hurts.
Getting home at 2 AM drunk on a Monday is not conducive to a strong work ethic at the office.
Try living on the East Coast watching the Preds during the week. It's brutal.

consider the 4 teams who went on 10 game+ win streaks this year
Minne 0-3
Phila n/a
Columbus 0-3
Calgary 0-3
and I think Washington maybe?
the impending StL - Toothcat series should be a dandy.

columbus looks like a regular season team right now. Was expecting they could give the penguins a series. obviously not. they are now about to be 0-3 in their playoff history since 2000.

What a way to crap the bed. Up 3-1 halfway through the game, there's no way you should lose a must win game. You also shouldn't give up the lead in the 2nd period. And you certainly shouldn't go the first THIRTEEN minutes of the 3rd period without taking a shot.
The Caps were lucky to get to overtime, they got flat out dominated in the third, and played some goat rodeo hockey to close out the second. Just a crap effort protecting a lead. This team won the Jennings Trophy for least goals allowed all year, and they were giving out high danger chances like candy on Halloween. Just an utter crap effort, especially by Carlson and Shattenkirk, who seemed to be in a contest in who could play crappier defense.
Ovechkin played the fewest minutes of his career in a playoff game, and before you blame the penalty kill, the only people who had less 5v5 time than Ovi were the 4th liners. Memo to Trotz: you might want your best player on the ice in the playoffs. Call it a hunch.
Flushed the game down the toilet in the span of 30 minutes of hockey. Bush league effort.

FIFY.
He could have gotten more offensive help in the first two games, but Fleury was pretty solid both nights. The Jackets are just getting subpar goaltending.

The Blues definitely miss Shattenkirk on the power play, but he is not even an average defensive player IMO.
He wanted to money and commitment (minutes & end of game situation) of a top pairing defenseman with the Blues. He'll never be that. He is exposed a lot in his own defensive zone.
He should never be taking d zone faceoffs

Shattenkirk has extended his poor defensive play into some terrible offensive zone play. He had three wide open looks on that 5-on-3 and missed the net every time. The Leafs were shading heavily to Ovi, so they rotated the PP to feed Shat in the Ovi spot, and he missed the net. Three times in a row. I mean... this is where the game was lost:
Then he took that delay of game penalty from just inside the blueline and no one pressuring him. Seriously, dude. WTF? He was spectacularly awful. Still not Carlson bad, who still hasn't found the depths of play yet. Yeah, Schmidt got hit in the face with a puck, leading to a goal, but Carlson didn't even bother to attempt to slow Matthews down. I mean, at least TRY.
