I could see that happening. The Rangers don't have a lot of depth up the middle, and the Habs third and fourth lines might be able to feast on the Rangers' lack of depth there. I'm not a big fan of looking at season series (if I did, I'd put more weight on the Sens sweeping the Bruins), but you're right that Rangers have played some disinterested hockey for the past month or so. Part of that is that they have known they've been locked into WC1 since about January for all practical purposes. But I don't like that they have to turn it back on.

Price has a .923 save percentage in his last 10, and that includes his last game, getting lit up by the Lightning.

AND for the whole year after several crappy months midseason. he's tied for 6th in save % and GAA.

dubs still had a good year but rinne (.918 which is usually considered where good save % starts) took a step back from very good year he had back in 2015 although he was a lowly .908 last year! henrietta is down to a .910 save %. holtby had another good year at .925. 3rd straight good year at .922 or better. Bobs with the best this year.

Holtby quietly had better numbers this year than he did when he won the Vezina. It's just that Bob has been insane this year.

Holtby I think has to be the difference if the Caps win it all. Offensive firepower only gets you so far in the playoffs.

If the Blues don't win it all (lol) then I hope the Caps can do it. Oshie and Shattenkirk are good dudes and Ovechkin seems like a good guy as well. He deserves one before he retires.

caps end season #1 in power rankings

holtby was 2.20 and .922 in vezina year

carey was 1.96 and .933

Bobs this year (who i assume will win) is 2.06 and .931. Bobs was 2.00 and .932 in 2012 when he won first time which was fabulous.

no vezina winner has had over a .933 save % since timmy T had .938 back in 2011 which was insane. just sick.

holtby was the first to win vezina with a under .930 save % since ryan miller in 2010.

closest to Timmy T was the dominator with .937 years back. unreal.

Holtby has a .942 Save pct over the past two playoffs. He was 944 last season. that's tops in the NHL. The problem is, opposing goalies have a .931 Save pct over the same time frame.

The question is, does Kuzy show up this playoffs. He was awful last year.

He was really good the year prior, so I'm not going to go full Semin on him. I think he'll be fine, especially because Johannson is playing so much better on his wing (and Justin Williams is a playoff stud).

Playing on the second line will help him out a lot. But you're right, he can't disappear again. Especially because the top line will be power matched most of the time, meaning the 2L should have much softer competition.

Also, I'm hoping Tom Wilson has renewed his lease on the space inside Matt Martin's head.

TSN fail! Can't even get the coach's name right!

Here's what I'm going with:

West:

Hawks vs Preds: As much as I hate them/want them to lose, I can't pick against them. Hawks in 6.

Wild vs Blues: Hope is a dangerous thing, but I've really enjoyed watching St. Louis play since Yeo took over. Blues in 6.

Ducks vs Flames: I just have a feeling the Flames might do this. Flames in 7.

Oilers vs Sharks: Like others have said, I hate that this is a first round matchup. I think San Jose will just about manage to grind this series out. Sharks in 7.

East:

Habs/Rangers: I think Price stands on his head for a series or two. Habs in 6.

Senators/Bruins: Brad Marchand is good at hockey. Bruins in 6.

Caps/Leafs: I don't know if y'all heard this or not, but it's the Caps year. Caps in 5.

Penguins/Blue Jackets: I don't think Pittsburgh repeats without Letang. He ate all of the minutes for them last year. But I think they have more than enough to get by Columbus. Pens in 6.

Man the Ducks have our number.

Weve lost 25 straight at the Honda Center.

But the ducks have lost 3 straight game 7s at home.

Hopefully we can push them to 7 but idk.

The ducks enter the playoffs on a 14 game point streak. I think they can win the Cup if Fowler comes back in form

Will be a real grind of a series with a lot of 2-1 type games as Baloo said.

Getzlaf, perry, eaves, raqell, gibson.. ugh.

Yes, that logo and the uniforms with it kicked arse.

A lot of Pens fans called that one the dead pigeon logo.

I like the Mean Penguin logo. It was an alternate logo in the late 80s/early 90s. Kind of looked like the Wilkes Barre-Scranton logo except it was coming right at the viewer and didn't have any red.
