I would surprised if Ovechkin is on the Caps next year. You going to continue to trot the same team out there and hope they get over the hump?
The only thing that would stop that is if they didn't feel they had a young marquee player they could receive in return to build around.

The team has been a big flop in the playoffs his whole tenure. I don't see the Capitals being nearly as good next year with so many contracts up. Unless they decide to go all in again for another year.

Congrats Pens and Ducks, huge game 7 wins last night!
Pens -vs- Washington was a little disappointing, and I thought Washington would put up more of a fight, but the Pens D did play a great game.
Ducks -vs- Oilers was an exciting game to watch.

I think UT got sucked in and went to the game. Poor baw. The only comforting thing I can say to those dudes is the Wings thought the window had closed in the mid '90's, but kept it together when rumors were flying about Stevie Y leaving. Does it really make sense to blow it all up out of butthurt?
