With that many I hope he retires. But probably won't.

Huh? Because they won on home ice like Ottawa?

If Ottawa keeps home ice they win

Burakovsky and Ovechkin have switched lines at the Caps' practice skate. Nope, Trotz isn't panicking at all, why do you ask?
Though a third line of Ovi-Eller-Wilson will score all the goals or get all the penalties. Not sure which.

well, that's interesting.
maybe they've found a weakness in pitts 3L they can expose on a faceoff or dump in.

Probably faceoff related, the Pens have owned the Caps in the faceoff circle in this series.
Bonino and Cullen especially, but in the last game when the Pens scored the game winning goal...Patric Hornqvist came in and won the faceoff after Bonino got tossed.
They won the FO battle by 10% in game 4, 55-45 and have won it by an average of 9% in their 3 wins.
Hell Malkin won 76% of his draws in Game 4 and Geno is average at best in the faceoff circle.

Crosby back at practice again this morning full contact jersey and a big ole smile, Sheary also back and taking contact as well.
Crosby is full go on his regular line taking rushes and all the drills. Wow.
When your 4th line has Hagelin and Cullen...that depth.

Penguins' lines: Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist, Kunitz-Malkin-Kessel, Sheary-Bonino-Rust and Hagelin-Cullen-Kuhnhackl.

jeez, that's "just waive off the Icing" bad.

Neither Bura or Ovi takes faceoffs, so it probably has nothing to do with that. It probably has to do with Burakovsky generated a ton of chances but can't score, so they are putting him with better playmakers. Also, Ovi has disappeared at evens this series.
So it would create a much faster 1st line and much stronger/heavier 3rd line.

And, obviously, force Pens to make decisions on match-ups. Ovi alone is worth the attention, but that would expose the 1st line to a more favorable match-up.

The way they are playing, Bura has been better than Ovi this series despite his lack of goals. He's been skating rings around the Pens, he just can't finish. Part of that is taking passes from Tom Wilson (Eller has been good as well, but he's not Backstrom). I think they want to give him that nudge.
Or it's a smokescreen.

I'll bet on smokescreen, or sending a message.
Seems pretty dumb to demote Ovi even if he has been playing poorly especially game 4. Like someone said, you do this in February sure no big deal, but facing elimination in May? Ehhh.
Caps fans seem to agree, they don't appear too happy on social media.
Crosby and Sheary returning may a throw in wrench in that as well, highly doubt they expected them back so soon.

Then we follow very different Caps' accounts. Most seem relatively onboard. Hell, they are more pissed by the fact Orpik is still playing. Which, frankly, has been the biggest problem with the Caps' lineup. He has blown goats.

Crosby said Ovechkin was just trying to prevent a goal with his slash. "That's pretty common." On Niskanen, "hard to say." -SK

Rumor has it Vegas will sign his line mate Dadonov too.

So many people are going to be dissapointed when vegas builds their team correctly , instead of just drafting every team's albatross contract to "reach the cap floor and have veteran leadership".
