I hate to celebrate others' anguish, but I'm not sure what is funnier -- unluckytiger's battered wife syndrome with the Caps or BB03 losing hockey playoff bets in ridiculous fashion multiple times every week.

Crosby returned to practice this morning.
I guess all of those reports of it being very minor and they were more worried about his neck were true.

Holtby was meh again. He hasn't had a bad series, but he hasn't been great, and Fleury has been otherwordly. His sequence of saves on Eller from point blank was amazing. He has been the difference in the series.
I have to agree, Fleury has been unbelievable! This and the Pens ability to take total advantage of scoring opportunities is winning this series so far.

Caps didn't lose because of the high sticking call. Like I said, they committed SIX offensive zone penalties. So what if it should have only been five?
Death by a thousand paper cuts. Caps f'n dominated this game. Hell, they dominated Game 1. Yet they lost both of them. Losing two games against the run of play is... well, it's peak playoff Caps.

I know everyone was really looking forward to another Nashville home ice circlejerk, so here you go:

That victory meant the Predators (4-0) remained the only NHL team not to lose a home game this postseason, a feat made all the more impressive when noting home teams have just a 25-30 record in these playoffs.
quote:
Predators captain Mike Fisher notes that the size of Bridgestone Arena, which isn't as cavernous as places like Chicago's United Center, works to the home team's advantage from a noise perspective. All those supporters packed together on top of the rink sound like an army, much the way Duke University's small - but ear-blasting - home crowds impact games at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
quote:
Added Arpon Basu, NHL.com's Montreal-based reporter: "A number of Blues players have mentioned that [Bridgestone] is a difficult place to play because the fans are right on top of you. The unique nature of the crowd here is that they really feel they're impacting the game. You get a sense that they feel they're having an impact on the visiting team and on their own team."

Crosby

You mf'er why just why?
I was getting over CP31SD and here you go getting me all shell shocked again.
CP31 folds like a Wal-Mart paper bag in big money games, unless it's Team Canada.

I'm pretty sure he's a double agent, and the Penguins snuck his name on the Cup last year.

Some surprising numbers there. Giguere was tough to beat back then.

I watch the CBC/Sportsnet broadcasts as much as possible. They are much more enjoyable. Only one game again tonight. Both Western Conference series resume tomorrow. Both Eastern Conference series resume Saturday.
