I just wanna say Tom Crean is excellent as an analyst. Just broke down the strengths and weaknesses of Lonzo, and how his shot won't be a huge factor. Crean will be a star on TV

The biggest issue with the Lakers picking Ball is that they were dead last in defensive rating last year. How does picking Lonzo Ball help them defensively in any way.

The pick doesn't make sense to me given Whiteside

Whiteside's backup (Willie Reed) is a free agent that will command at least $10 million a year for 3 years. The Heat won't be re-signing him.

LA might look a little different by the time we plan on being competitive
.

But you're right. We get a F because we didn't draft to our current need on defense

It's not like Lonzo Ball is a defensive wash - he is a defensive liability

I watched Kent State(6th place MAC team) and their players make Lonzo Ball look silly defensively in the NCAA tourney... then Kentucky's players absolutely made him look like a joke.

Goldienugs logic

In Damian Lillard's last year at Weber State he had shooting nights of 4/14 vs Montana St, 4/15 vs Montana, 4/13 vs Eastern Washington, and 4/16 vs Utah St. Why oh why was such a bum taken at #6?!?!????

He wouldnt help but at the very least he wouldnt be a defensive liability either

In 5 years(assuming Lonzo Ball lasts that long) we will be making fun of him defensively like we make fun of Harden/Westbrook today.

as would literally every single 19 year old entering the nba

and lonzo was FAR from a liability as an off ball defender

yes he would, because 19 year olds entering the NBA get eaten all the time. every single 19 year old taken right now is going to be a defensive liability this year

He was often double teamed/box and one'd/triangle and two'd at Weber State. UCLA had too many weapons for the same defensive junk to be thrown at Lonzo Ball

Clippers have had better home attendance 6 years in a row in the same building.

No player generates more buzz and hype in this draft.
