I can't believe Rafa fought off three match points, then dumped that easy forehand in control of the point at 6 all.

I can. He's not fit enough with that time off due to his "injury"

Thiem withdrew in the second set against Del Potro. JMDP into the quarters. Murray and Dimitrov toight should be fun.

I"m nominating that Rafa/Pouille match as the best match of the year.

I hate hate hate that Rafa lost that one, but I have to give props to Pouille. He brought the goods.

Murray v. Grigs tonight is huge.

I used to be fine with the butt dig, but he has added head wipe, nose touch, head wipe on serve, as well as a dick tug on return.

I thought he scaled down his routine for the Open. Quick head wipe nose touch, rather than dig, head wipe, nose touch, head wipe, nose touch, head wipe, nose touch, serve.

I was kinda proud of him.

He's like Murray. They play possum and make you think they are exhausted.

It's different with Isner. He really does get exhausted towards the later rounds. That's a big frame to be lugging around.

Kinda sad, but I don't see Rafa or Roger winning another hard court slam.

I don't see either one of them winning another slam period.

Now that I think about it, I'll retract my statement and go with that.

I might be wrong, but I feel like Isner is so much better in best of 3-set tourneys.

I think that's pretty much a fact, and it applies to a lot of guys.

Grigor is a disaster thus far tonight.

Dinitrov has been a disaster for much of the last year or more so this result can't be surprising.

Best 3 out of 5 at the 4 majors separates the men from the boys that's why you see a very small group of players that actually win majors. It's by design.

I feel like it makes the sport a little bit too much of an endurance contest. On the other hand, I guess seeing Ivo Karlovic make grand slam finals by reeling off a bunch of 7-6, 7-6 wins doesn't interest me.

The majors do reward fitness for sure but the masters 1000 tournaments have as tight an array of winners as the majors and they're all best 2 out of 3. The top 5 guys just dominante the sport.

OK, so we got Pouille and Monfils this afternoon. I think Pouille wins and has a better shot at getting to the finals, but would love to see Gael make a run.

I never have faith in Tsonga against Djoker, but those 80 mph serves Nole is tossing in may give him a chance tonight.

No idea what to think on Stan and JMDP tomorrow. Murray will probably wear down Nishikori in four.

Pouille is coming off three 5-setters in a row, so if he wins more than a set I'll be surprised.

I saw a little of Murray vs. Dimitrov and good god that guy is on fire. He even hit the fastest serve of his career with a 141 mph ace to close the 1st. I have a tourney bet on Nishi, but I will need an off day from Murray, and those are rare lately.
