Pedro also pitched in the heart of the PED era. The guys he was having to pitch against were all roided out which makes what he did that much more impressive.

so that means he'll only give up 5 runs in his playoff appearance right

Kershaw is amazing. The funny thing about him is my dad and I went to see him pitch in a high school game his senior year in the playoffs. He was throwing 93/94 and we sat next to about 15 scouts. The team they played ripped his tits believe it or not. I couldn't believe it. Pretty funny

He's at 7 ks and 1 bb so far through 5. His one walk came on a full count pitch that didn't miss the plate at all

That's the crazy thing. Kershaw just turned 28. He still will probably be dominant for another 5 years

I think about that, then I remember what happened to Johan Santana- a completely dominant guy, who was winning a Cy Young and finishing with a good number of MVP votes when he was 27, and who was effectively out of the league at 31.

There are no safe bets to still be dominating, years down the road.

On the DL now. DL stint may keep it from being an all-time great season, although he should only miss two starts.
