Is that the largest contract in NBA history? $29 million per year

That figure has to be wrong.

No one can make that much money yet period AND he definitely can't do it bc it's just his second contract.

I dont think he can even get 5 years at 105 mill yet.

After the cap balloons to 110 mill ++ thats what max contracts will look like. Right now it's not possible though.

Nah, there's exceptions for players that make the All Star game or All Nba teams in their first few years that allows them to get a much larger contract than the usual RFA

It doesn't start at 29/year. Going to increase.

I'm so confused on how Davis can get such a huge contract? What does max even mean? Leonard's number with the Spurs is way lower than that.

Rose Role + new tv deal = Davis' contract

Davis' deal doesn't kick in until AFTER next year when the new deal starts. He'll need to start the all star game again next year or win the MVP to get the full supermax deal.

It's 100 percent correct. He's a Rose Rule FA and it doesn't go into effect until 2016 when the cap drastically increases. He's still on his rookie deal for another year.

Yeah the D Rose rule but that still doesn't allow him to get 29 mill per year.

a Max contract right now is 22 mill per year and that's for players on their 3rd contract.

The Max deals with % of salary cap not an actual dollar amount. I think for players going to 2nd contract it's 28% then for players on 3rd contract can get like 33% then if they make it to a 4th they get like 35%.

Numbers might be a little bit off but that's the jist of it.

You're wrong. We've known it would be 143-145 for awhile now.
