So Bron is basically the rich CEO who hires all of his family members and friends right?

Dang. Was hoping he'd come to SA to be the third PG.

Early indications are Cavs likewise have NOT abandoned JR Smith pursuit. They seem intent on keeping whole band together. And adding to it

I am completely fine with them bankrupting Gilbert

Gilbert will still come out on the positive side. Guy owns half of Cleveland.

Nah Woj tweeted out that they weren't even one of the main teams chasing him.

Cavs don't win the championship and he continues to get by the repeator tax. Let me have this.

Gilbert bought the Cavaliers in 2005 for $375 million. Early last summer, the team's valuation was approximately $500 million. Immediately following LeBron's return, the valuation was estimated at $1 billion. LeBron, in the course of one afternoon, essentially made Dan Gilbert $500 million. If the luxury/repeater tax is the price of keeping LeBron, even just looking at Gilbert's business interest in the Cavaliers, paying the tax is still a sound financial decision.

In addition, with Gilbert now in full ownership of multiple casinos in Ohio, the business benefits and goodwill offset any loss that Gilbert would theoretically incur---especially considering that the Horseshoe Casino he owns in Cleveland is just a few blocks from the Q and he owns the Ritz in downtown Cleveland, both of which directly benefit from large crowds at Cavs games.

I'm thinking JR is gonna sign a 3 year deal around 18-20 mill.

He liked playing with lebron and I don't think anyone wants to give him money to go along with his baggage.

Really hope we can just trade Haywood contract for a backup for lebron now. Only piece this team is really missing.

Kyrie/Mo/Delly
Shump/JR/Miller
Lebron/Jones
Love/TT
Mozgov/Verajo

Pretty stout. Just need a young SF to take about 15 minutes a game from Lebron

Hmmm I can't wait for a gambling scandal to break out in the league and then someone point out the sketchiness of this

Yeah I'm a LeBron fan. Who cares? Didn't even like the NBA until I watched him play in a game back in 2006. Followed him ever since and just recently became a big NBA fan a few years ago.

There are quite a few people like me and why this bothers so many of the people on this site will always be confusing to me. Doesn't really bother me though

I just recently moved to Nola so I'm trying to become a Pellies fan. Went to a few games this year. AD was hurt or got hurt in all of them though. Kind of annoying lol

Can someone explain exactly how Gilbert profits from that, in real terms?

Ok, his team doubled in value, but he's obviously not selling the team with Lebron, so what's the actual benefit solely from the team valuation doubling?

Mo Williams to the Cavs.

There was probably no one on this board harder on Mo Williams in his 1st go round with CLE than me, but I think this is a solid pick up.

When Mo Williams is your 2nd best player, you have major issues. But if he's like you're 7th or 8th best player, you can work with that.
