Updated Rankings (Previous Ranking in Parenthesis):
1. OLOM (2) - The Blue Jays have won the last 2 tournaments. They defeated SGS in the St. George Tournament, and CHS in the St. Jude Tournament after a 2nd half comeback.
2. St. George (1) - You could argue for CHS here after CHS defeated SGS 21-7, but the Bears are 1-3 against the Dragons on the season. They were supposed to play this week, but St. George had to postpone the game due to a flu outbreak.
3. CHS (3) - Now that the Bears are finally healthy, they are trending in the right direction. They will have some chances in the near future to knock off #1 and #2 and move up before the Elite 8.
4. St. Aloysius (4) - The Lions have beaten every team ranked behind them and have yet to knockoff one of the top 3 teams despite being close.
5. SJV (5) - 5-7 is pretty tough as all the teams appear to be even. SJV appears to be the best of this group.
6. St. Theresa (7) Very well coached but lack depth.
7. St. Jude (6) Big Man Duo is tough to deal with.
8. St. Alphonsus (8) - The Hornets are pesky, and I expect them to upset someone soon.

The rationale you give for Aloysius being at 4 is the exact argument you can make for St Theresa if you had them at 5 (beat SJV, St Jude, and Alphonsus) yet you have them ranked below an SJV team they beat last week. A bit inconsistent in your reasoning.

So SJV lost to both St Theresa and St Alphonsus, but ahead of both of them?
Smells fishy to me….

ACMS -The Bulldogs’ old-school gym, with its creaking bleachers and deafening crowd
If its the same gym the high school team played in back in the 80's, their "locker room" was the lunch room behind a garage roll up door at one end of the court. Instead of a run out, they would just roll up the door and stroll out with all of the lunch room tables stacked behind them. It seemed normal at the time.
It didn't hold a candle to the old Sunshine High (now East Iberville) gym. The court was so small, if there had been an NBA 3 point line back then, the arc would've almost intersected with the center jump circle. There were 5 rows of permanent painted plywood bleachers down each side of the court that were basically just base drums. When you sat on the "bench" you had to tuck your feet back or they would be over the sideline. The concession stand was on the stage at one end of the court and was a shite show of people sitting along the edge of the stage with their legs hanging over a foot or so off the baseline. Play was stopped numerous times a game for the ref to back them up so the ball could be inbounded. At three of the four corners of the court, only a few feet from the court itself were doors leading outside. To get water/go to the restroom, you went outside along a sidewalk into the school building. There was also a group of dads in the doorway grilling burgers for the concession stand. It was glorious and somewhat intimidating at the same time.
Some of the best memories of high school were riding the bus back across the ferry after beating their arse in football or baseball (often) or basketball (only once).

BearTiger, any chance we can get one of your rankings with the descriptions? Was there a school tourney this past weekend?

All 8 teams played this weekend - 5 in the Mercy tournament and the other 3 in a round robin at STA.

I am sure the Dragons are feeling disrespected... Went 3-0 in the Mercy tournament with 2 wins over Mercy, but still the 2 seed... but it should all be settled on the court in the finals this weekend

They set the E8 bracket before the Mercy tournament, when Mercy was coming off of consecutive tournament wins. But I tend to agree with you, it's very likely that they meet in the end this coming weekend.

Where will the Elite 8 be held this year? Anyone know the schedule?

Very likely?
Have either of them lost a game to anyone in the league but each other?

Catholic is the wildcard. Didn't start the season healthy, but playing good ball now. Only lost to SGS by 2 this weekend at the Mercy tournament.

Can't leave me in suspense like that. Scores update? Next round times? Current odds?

I believe it was all chalk last night. That would mean Aloysius/Mercy and CHS/George tonight at Catholic.

Did they actually beat them, or did St. George forfeit b/c they had too many kids sick with the flu?
