Tiger just seems so tense during the first rounds of these tournaments compared to how loose he seems off the course these days. Almost all of his Thursdays & Fridays seem like Groundhog Day. He really needs a tournament where he comes out of the gate hot so it doesn't force him to play perfect during the weekend.

I think he was going for the rough behind the bunker.

Regardless, aggressive lines haven't really been his thing during the comeback. It's a sign he's feeling pretty good, IMO.

Can't even take a wedge right at that pin. DAMN sure can't take whatever the shite he had in his hands.
It was dumb as shite

JT flew it 30 ft past the hole there with a gap wedge earlier

I appreciate the aggressive line though.
No no no.

That line wasn't just idiotic, it was literally impossible to have a positive outcome with it.

I like what it signals about his confidence. That was my main point.

He landed that wedge about 15 feet short(directly at the pin) and it had no prayer of staying on the green

What Brooks did was what you have to do. He had 70 yards I believe and he went way left on purpose and took his birdie.

I don't think that was his line. He pushed it. You could hear him telling the ball to get left.

But I'm mad and venting

He also landed it in front of the green, directly on the downslope. If that landed on the green he would have given himself a good look.

He said to his caddie "What happened? I thought I hit it perfect"

It is a downslope right there all the way to the hole

JT's landed on that downslope right off the bunker, where it's the most steep.

I must have missed Tiger saying he hit it perfect. When it was in the air, I thought he said "get left"

I'm pretty sure it's a downslope pretty much all the way to the hole. That's why they're landing short even with the spin they can get...and it's still kicking forward like crazy.

Keopka has been in the sand all day. He's done well getting out, though.

This is about to be the most Tiger round of golf since his comeback.

Played well and messed around on the front page. Dropped. Got it back a bit. shite his pants with the putter. Then for the grand finale he catches 1 or 2 bad breaks and walks off scratching his head at +1.

Kisner hit 7/15 fairways, 9/18 greens, and shot -5. That's pretty crazy.
