Plus here in the last few years, Baylor has been pretty good in other sports.

If they've been putting money into the football program, then I'm sure they promised him he can have what he wants.

Not like Baylor is a much better program, but it is a far better league and probably a lot more $$ than what UH was going to offer.

yeah but he left UH when it was still stacked. he could have waited for a bigger program

Really would have liked to see what he could have done on their respective teams. RGIII is the real deal and I have been "in love" with him since his frosh season.

i never understood while briles went from houston to baylor, b/c it's somewhat lateral

He must like turning programs around.

To me, it boils down to him getting consistently shut out of talks for mid-level BCS school jobs.

At some point, I imagine a guy like Briles looks around and says 'I'm winning 8 games a year in Houston, when we really play a 9 game season with 3 games just to keep the budget in the green, and I can't even get an interview at a Colorado?'

He's not getting any younger, and there is worse talent to pick through than the Texas/TAMU leavings in Texas. If he makes Baylor into what Texas Tech became under Leach, he can probably at least get his foot in the door at a better job with real resources.

Baylor is a much better program A-Z then UH. They have just sucked in football. Plus UH isn't BCS. That had to be part of the decision.

I think McLane of the Astros brought him to Baylor.

Probably, but I don't see that he's cost himself that shot. Sure, maybe he lost a year or two, but if he wants, he'll be able to get plenty of bigtime jobs after this year (I expect them to win 8 games).
