Going to be a good weekend of racing.

Next Friday and Saturday (Sunday too if you are defending or gunning for a close GC position) are going to be BRUTAL. 9000m of climbing in 2 days at the end of the Tour. I can't remember a Tour that you needed this much gas in the tank going into the last 3 stages. There will be no clinking of the champagne this year.

Number of guys dropping with Covid today. Pidcock didn’t start and Thomas was sick but trying to continue. A few guys out the back today that were sick.

They better start mainlining monoclonals and ivermectin and Vit C and everything else in these guys today.

Just saw a dumbass fan running down the road and was going to produce at least a near miss with a rider and another fan yanked him off the road. It was awesome for once to see a fan yank another fan out of the way.

Astonishing to me how quickly Tadej caught up to Yates.

Yet, "they" pronounced Tadej dead a couple of days ago...

38s on the road plus bonus.

I was one of them. Really hope he can hold up in the mountains. Looked great today.

Regarding the guy who put something in Tadej’s face, they need to do a better job protecting the riders. Insane that they are allowed to roam free.

Looked on Twitter and it was a bag of chips. Hopefully he gets arrested.

Lead is getting rather large. If Vin is better week three…he better be a lot better or it might not be doable. Fun to watch and speculate.

Every year people do this stuff and it seems they never face accountability. What compels someone to interfere with a rider? They either need jail time or a massive beating on the side of the road.

The Cycling Graphs analysis says Pogi's climb is the best performance of the 21st Century given altitude and stage length. 6.8 W/kg for nearly 28 mins at altitude.

I always take his estimates with a grain of salt. Derek Gee post his power data and did 432 for 26:12 which is 5% slower. An article from June estimates his weight at 73 kilos for a w/kg of 5.9 for this final climb.

Still beat Lance's 2001 time by 2 minutes in a sub-30 min climb.

The VAM numbers are outragous

I remember Lemond saying he was watching Lance and someone next to him said in French, "he's on the juice". Lemond asked how he could tell - guy said, 'look at his face, he's not suffering'.

Pogacar looked like he just completed his warmup as he finished today.
Ironic commentary from Phil just as Pogacar was about to cross the line.

Lance’s ascent came at the end of a 200k day with 1500 more meters of climbing
