I have no doubt that a fully trained Jonas would have at least matched Pog today. I'm sure he's still on the expensive alien cocktail too.

If Tadej can hold form after the Tour he's got the chance to post what would easily be the greatest season ever by going for the quadruple crown with tough Olympic and WC routes plus he's got a monument in the bag.

Shouldn't the top 5+ from today also be on that list?

Yep, Jonas smashed the old record too and lost a minute lol

These are just the top times from each year the climb has been used

On the move

George: Lance's time was 7 mins behind Tadej's time today

Lance: that makes you feel really shitty

Bradley Wiggins: Lance would have come in with Cav today

Lance: I would have been with Cav and the whole Astana

After the Giro he said he would not ride the Vuelta.

Not knowing his vitamin and mineral injection cycle and how that would impact his ability to recycle in less than a month means I don't know shite but I just can't imagine not making a run at something that has never been done. Adding the three GT wins in a season is arguably the greatest feat one could add to their palmares. When you break an Eddie record or do something Eddie was not able to do it is instant legend status.

We are also talking like the Tour is done and it likely is since 3 minutes is big but it is really just a bad day in the mountains which anyone can have.

Tadej will be a massive favorite for the World Champs in Switzerland. I'd imagine he'll focus on that.

Just watched a rest day interview. Pogacar says 99% not at La Vuelta.
Interviewer - is it 100% impossible for you to go to La Vuelta?
Pogacar - Let's keep it 99% impossible to see at La Vuelta for this year. Next year is good chance to see me at La Vuelta.

Jonas discusses w/kg estimates

TLDR they are accurate. I always thought they were over estimating by a good margin but guess not. 7 w/kg after 4000 kj for 40 minutes is hard to fathom.

I use the Rogue Echo Bike at the gym and I keep forgetting to check the watts. I'm pretty sure I don't ever get to that type of ratio. These guys are mutants.

Girmay goes down with less than 1k to go. Philipsen takes his 3rd stage. The Green Jersey is FAR from settled

There aren't any stages left where they will be in contention at the finish huh? So it's just intermediate sprints. Still seems mostly done to me, unless Girmay is just outright injured.

The 4 remaining intermediate sprints just got really interesting. Alpecin and Intermarche' have some work left to do. It is a real shame we aren't ending on the Champs-Elysees it could have been fireworks.

The only stage the sprinters have a chance to be in for points at the end is 18 and that's unlikely. They have 4 intermediate sprints left only 3 of them are likely to have the sprinters in points position (17/18/19) stage 20 has the sprint after a 2nd and 1st cat climb and part of the way up a second cat 1.

Realistically there are only 60 points left for the sprinters to fight for but it is enough. We shall see what happens tomorrow. The sprint occurs at 114k and Alpecin can't allow a break to get away. If they sense any weakness in Grimay they need to build a break with Jasper in it and try to claw 20 full points back. Then it gets interesting. In the end, chances are it is over but it the first couple of hours tomorrow we will see if Alpecin and Jasper are going to make a bid or not.

I would not even attempt to get into the breakaway till after the intermediate sprint tomorrow

But Alpecin have no choice, the intermediate sprint is the only point tomorrow where Jasper can score points, and he needs all 20. he cant allow riders up the road to take points away from him.

If Girmay can also get in the breakaway then its game over, but Alpecin at least have to test him and see how he's feeling.

I meant as someone trying to win the stage. Don’t try to get into any break prior to the intermediate sprint because Alpecin will be controlling hard

Just a question, but it seems that it is doable or probable for the last ITT

So you have a Cat 2 climb to start the stage. Would you use your climbing bike and switch to a TT bike on the descent? I seem to recall POG did that in a TT vs Roglic in a previous TdF

And yes, Cofidis is back to normal, with everyone dropping out and nobody winning. I was worried after their stage wins—yes, I said wins—last year that we may have had a seismic shift in the universe.

Very true. Should add some more drama in this final week.
