i would say the 10, 11, and 12 seeds are all better than being an 8 or 9. the value of avoiding a 1 seed is very high.

And I'm still pissed that Knight got EVERY FLUCKING CALL after banging the phone mid 2nd half.

LSU was down 1 with 11:39 remaining in the 1st half when Knight received a technical foul. Knight then went to the scorers table and banged the phone.

JMU over Duke seems to be a very popular pick.

I am hearing a lot of money/picks coming in on JMU to make it to sweet 16 as well.

I think whoever wins that game between Wisc and JMU can beat Duke, however the amount of hype JMU is getting worries me, vs a hot Wisconsin team.

Is it overhype or are they the real deal?

Can you provide a link to that? I'm POSITIVE that happened midway through the second half when we were up 8. It has been 37 years, so I could be mistaken. I usually remember things like this though.

I have a spreadsheet of data going back to 2005 when playins started. It’s a sick hobby. I’m not even a big basketball fan. Made changes through years. It’s an impossible task. There is no silver bullet.

Here’s what I’ll say for various reason. One of these teams will win it all:

Uconn
Houston
Auburn
Iowa state
North Carolina

A double digit seed will make sweet 16

Not necessarily an 11 seed.

I’m looking at:
#10 Drake
#10 Nevada
#11 Oregon
#11 UNM
#12 GCU
#12 JMU

I have been advocating that whoever wins that Auburn Uconn game is my favorite to win.
I think aub gets the dub over them right now but Uconn is so good.

I rarely cheer for aub but im riding w those war danm eagles this tourney

I think BYU wins big.

The rest could go either way.

The 11 is the favorite in a couple of those games. I don’t see it as an upset if the favorite wins.

state's in a really good spot against TT since Tech's 7'0 center is injured and probably won't be able to play many minutes if any at all, so Burns should cruise. Oregon got a good matchup with SC and NM with Clemson as well. I have those 3 winning and NM in the sweet 16, Duquesne isn't as talented as the other 3 and they don't match up well with BYU

Bodes well for me. I have 3 11 seeds advancing, with New Mexico in the sweet 16.

Of course, this means New Mexico is going to lose in round 1 and the lone 11 seed I have losing will be in the final 4.

Man was I wrong about BYU.
Luckily I had them losing in the next round. Almost put them in the sweet 16

I have a feeling no more than 1 Big 12 team makes the elite eight

Okay so we ended 3-1 for the #11 seeds.

What is our success rate for 2nd round you think?

I’m not ripping on you. Auburn was a huge disappointment. They had all makings of final 4 team. I would have easily picked them in any quadrant aside from UConn or Houston.
