My thoughts

1) If i could befriend one person in the NBA it would be Stephen Jackson. He may be hood, but he is loyal as frick. He didnt even really know why RonRon was in the stands and he was just like "Aight lets do this shite". Say what you want, thats commendable. Dude rolls deep.

2) Why do people perpetuate this "athletes cant fight fans" mantra like its the equivalent of punching children? Why cant you fight a fan? Fans are adults just like athletes are. If you would get punched for doing something in a bar you should get bunched for doing it at a game. If someone threw a drink on you at a bar you would be throwing.

3) That being said, Panda Friend should have done a little more due diligence to make sure he got the right guy.

Great memory of watching that. I was in my hotel room at Disney World watching the game and couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Did Artest or any of the other players get sued by fans?

Crazy, but I don't think Artest was the most blameworthy person here, or even the second most.

That whole thing was Ben Wallace's fault for completely overreacting to a foul and going insane. Then I'd blame equally the trash Detroit fan base and and Stephen Jackson for trying to take it into a full scale brawl from there.

I don't blame Ron Artest at all. The fans in Detroit are shite. He should have shown more restraint, but Artest did nothing wrong and was laying down on press row. That fan deserved an arse beating.

Artest tried to disengage himself until he was pelted with debris and drinks. Not to mention a fricking fan ran onto the court after him.

My buddy and I just got back from the PMAC as LSU Students from a basketball game versus Tulane. We got to his apartment to order some Pluckers and all of a sudden they started fighting on TV. Surreal.

I remember when Artest went on the Today Show right after the fight. Instead of discussing what he did in the fight, he was just promoting some music album.

This whole thing was such a clusterfrick on so many levels.
