The best team for a tournament at this level isn't necessarily an NBA All-Star team. While the top players in the NBA are the best at beating NBA players, they aren't necessarily the best at beating lower level guys.

Like Sebastian Telfair and Stephen Marbury could be better than Chris Paul, and it wouldn't surprise me at all.

If you put all three of those on a street court against pretty good amateur players, Ithink Marbury and Telfair would have a very good chance of looking better than Paul. Doesn't mean I think they are better NBA players. But it's the same reason why some players are better in college and worse in the pros. Tyler Hansbrough was a beast in college, and he was more dominant than plenty of better NBA players at the college level. That doesn't mean he is a better player. Same goes for Christian Laetner. The guy was stupid good in college. There are tons of NBA players who I would say are obviously better players, but against lower compeition, give me Laetner.

Somebody should get together a TigerDroppings team

I'm a pretty decent basketball player and prolly in the top quarter of people who post here. That being said, I don't know if I could score a bucket against Hakim Warrick.

Us against that Syracuse team would be the equivalent of the "Could a pro girls team beat a decent high school team" thread. It would be a massacre.

In high school, three kids from my school won the Rockets 3v3 Black Top challenge. It was crazy because they weren't that good, but they had a great strategy.

What was the strategy?

They had one point guard who had really good handles, but that was about it. He wasn't a good shooter or anything, but you basically couldn't steal the ball from him. Then they just brought two 6'6" guys. No team had two players tall enough to guard both of them. The point guard just threw lobs all day. It was hilarious to hear these guys talk about all of the pissed off street ballers that just couldn't do anything.

None of these three ever played anything but garbage time on Varsity.

They shouldn't let anyone who played D1 or D2 into something like this. It should just be regular people.
