Reggie Miller as Ron's bodyguard

ETA: What's amazing about that whole sequence is that, after Artest was pulled away from the melee in the stands, there is literally no security or Pacer personnel around him on the court when he decks the fan that confronted him. How the hell do you let that happen?

A 30 for 30 on this needs to be made.

I watched this live as well. Was playing poker in my cousins garage and they had the game on. We couldn't believe what we were seeing.

That event changed security as we know it for fans and players. Didn't the First Base Coach for Chicago (I think?) get jumped around this time too.

And an Astro in the outfield had a drunk run up behind him during the game and jump on his back like he was going to ride a pony? Who was the player??

Here's the ESPN coverage of it.

I had no idea Jamal Tinsely was threatening the fans with a dustpan as a weapon

I loved that part. You can see Artest's body language of "oh, you want some too"? and then Jackson slides in and clocks that dude at the end.

You think them going into the stands was cool??? You are a DUMBfrick.............

Just like the Detroit fans tossing beer on Artest who hadnt left the court? He did not do anything until the beer hit him when he was on the table. The fans started it and Pacers ended it.

OK... Why does he LAY on the table???? Just being a stupid arse ON THE ROAD.... THIS is what started it... Were the fans wrong??? SURE. But I have said this since it happened.. The way he strutted over and laid down on the table like he OWNED the place is what started it.....

You can't be this stupid, but then again, you set your trailer on fire.

Reggie Miller and Rick Carlisle forced him the table to alienate him away from the fight.

I didn't watch it live because I don't watch the NBA. However, I remember a shortly after that there was a fight at a girls basketball game at my high school that made world news. The media kept trying to blame it on the Artest fight, but it was really just between two "gangs" and had absolutely nothing to do with the basketball game.

Here's a video to part of it. LINK

I remember watching that live as well. I forgot that Artest and O'Neil decked a dude back on court.
