I agree it is overblown, but how many times can you show a wicker basket or talk about a rubber snake from 30 years ago. They need story lines and the guy is leading the tournament after having an unusual schedule this week.

The course I worked at in highschool had these wicker baskets. They were a pain in the arse because we had to take them down every night and put the flags out.

Not sure, but this is pretty typical for a classic US Open.

ETA: I like the wicker baskets, but I don't need to hear anything about them anymore. The history has been told ad naseum.
