Rory needs to calm down with the wedges.

Two of his worst tee shots were on holes that went left to right
But I think having to try to hit so many draws is fricking everything else up.
He also could just be tired

I mean you are correct that tiger is not good at moving it right to left
But today that hasnt been his demise, yet

As bad as we think Tiger is playing, which he is, he only played that 9 two strokes worse than Rory Mcilroy

Eldrick Tont woods
Honestly, if he finishes at like -1 this is vintage 1st round at a major tiger from his glory days
However, I am fully aware he will get it to -1 or so then frick it up with a bogey at 16 and 18

A strong finish to the round and he's in there. He needs to get this back into red figures.

Idk what they're smoking in that building.
But I want it.

They were talking about crazy low scores possible today, yet no one has taken it lower than -3 so far. That's promising considering the round Tiger is having.

I think these greens are fricking with them. Not enough practice time to get a good feel for all the different tiers or to get a sense of pace.
Plus the rough is thick as hell and this course is long - firm zoysia doesn't roll like firm bent and firm bermuda. They're hitting middle irons into more than half the holes.

I figured there would be a -7 out there today, with -4 putting you in the top 10. I wouldn't be surprised if that still happens. But yes, this is going pretty well for Tiger thus far.

JT with an ugly bogey. Tiger with a nice par on #4.
