We'll see. I think a first round 70 slightly lowers his chances of winning. He's gotta break 70 tomorrow now or he'll be playing from behind by at least a few strokes. This has never been tigers winning recipe in majors, particularly in the last several years. In 2000 you could count on him having a 66 up his sleeve Friday or Saturday. Now it's a bit less certain

And Like I said, even though he shot 70 today, it doesn't mean he'll win. Just pointing out the fact that -2 is a pretty good score for day 1.

i'm sure tiger will admit he left a few shots out there on those last few holes.....but if you had asked him before the round if he'd have been happy with a 70, he'd probably say thats right where he wanted to be after today
