I just can't imagine why it would make that much of a difference that he hasn't done this before the week of the Masters and at least put it in play during a tourney beforehand.

jGOLF Channel is basically making this week a GIANT Tiger commercial. are any other guys playing? how can they even think about competing with Woods?

I find it odd because 3 months ago he called his razr fit extreme the best driver ever, but now it's not good enough for him at a course where driving shouldn't be a priority.

Because Tiger is the best player in the last 20+ years and is #1 in the world, and him winning is a good thing for golf?
ETA: I'm pretty sure you haven't been watching the same stuff I've been watching all week, they've been talking about Phil, Rory and Bubba quite a bit.

If you think TGC is hyping Tiger, wait until this weekend if Tiger's on the first page of the leaderboard. They will have to sedate Nantz.

Years ago in the days before GPS, I did some spotting work for CBS at The International. After a couple of years, I asked Chuck Will, the Associate Producer who I talked to on the headsets during the telecast what it would take to work the Masters. He said NO WAY as they worked by a different set of rules than they did at regular Tour events.

Golf Channel knows that Joe Plumber and other casual fans will tune into the Golf Channel for the first and only time this year. They are gonna talk about what the public wants to hear....Tiger.

Online coverage is on masters.com and it's different from network coverage. They cover 11, 12, and 13 tee with one camera, 15 & 16 with another, and they follow 2 featured groups. Unfortunately, they didn't include Tiger in their featured group tomorrow.

That's because the majority of casual fans want to hear about Tiger. Golf faithful are probably going to watch the Golf Channel no matter what they're talking about.
At the practice round yesterday Tiger didn't go out till around 2PM. Once it was put up that he was about to tee off on 1, the whole back 9 was a ghost town and people were lining holes 1-7 in preparation for him coming through. It was insane. People were literally sprinting from Amen Corner to the front nine.
