I want Tiger to play the weekend because the tournament is more entertaining with him in the field. However, I think the integrity of the game would be irreparably damaged if they skirted the rule here to allow him to play. Especially after the penalty levied yesterday against the amateur.
Really tough spot for whoever has to make the call.
If he is dqed, it will be presented as Tiger doing it, but I have to think that behind closed doors someone is going to have to make that decision for him.

Dude, a penalty makes sense if so. A dq seems crazy to me.

You sure? He played an incorrect ball and holed out. I did that and was dq'd. But It was from a hazard and not my ball. Looking up the drop rule now.

Berg, it is possible Tiger knew what he was doing was illegal. It is possible he lied in the post round interview to make is intent look genuine.
That's part of the problem here.. How do you take a guy like that at his word. You can't.

I'm certain and the golf channel just said it as well. It is only a DQ if it is a serious breach(gave him a significant advantage).

The USGA could still give him a 2 stroke penalty and waive the DQ. The Golf channel said that was talked about.
