A decent Disney cruise is $15000. $250,000 is big, but everything cost way more now.

Didn’t know they costed that much.

I can’t remember ever spending anywhere near $15k on a vacation. I get burnt out at times, but I’ve never felt like I needed to do that.

Eh. Depends on the cruise. Some of the richest people I know do European river cruises. Supposedly they are awesome.

What you quoted is excellent behavior. But it has to be sustained for years to make someone "feel rich" most likely.

Maybe the term “feel rich” is the catch. I feel like I’m doing well and retirement is on track. House almost paid off and no auto debt. If the washer breaks or I need to spend $1,000 on an auto repair it doesn’t bother me. Take an annual vacation and can go on a weekend (within reason) when we want.

But am I worried about money, replacing my income if I lose my job, retirement accounts being sufficient or getting these kids through college?

Absofrickinlutely. Because of that I don’t feel “rich”….but that also keeps your head in the game.

These types of articles are useless for comparison sake in most instances due to COL varying so much from region to region in the USA.

Yeah, kids and mortgage (which is much a function of location) are the biggest variables.
