I could pay her student loans off now and be done with it but that may not fix the issue.

You should do this regardless.

You own them or the bank does and you are making payments?

I ask because if the above is mortgaged you may have more total debt than they wish to touch.

You make 250k/year and have any debt other than mortgage or opening a new franchise living in Thibodeaux you likely have some other things going on not being shared in this thread.

IMO the real question is why are you carrying student debt on a 250k household income. Unless it’s six figures of student debt, that shite should have been gone 2 years ago.

I recently sold a business. Do not bring home that every year. My wife and I bring in about 150k a year. Nothing hidden. I would love to payoff loans. We were told it would not necessarily help with the flags on credit report. Paying very little interest. No need to use savings. Still have to pay taxes on money from business.

Was the business a side gig, or your primary income? If primary, how long did you operate and what did you draw from it annually?

Are you a salaried employee currently? If so how long has that been? It’s much harder to get approved being self employed, especially if you don’t have at least 2 years of steady income from the business. In other words this business income may not “count”.

You keep saying “nothing hidden”, but every time you response you give new information that is clearly pertinent.

Good luck. This is either a troll job or you’re completely ignorant on life.

I agree. At first you said your income was $250K a year, then when pressed its actually $150K , big difference. And on top of that you owe taxes on the sale of a business and have a history of not paying debts owed (regardless of your story about throwing the notices away by mistake) , you should have realized that you hadn’t paid that bill for several months. Good luck, but it seems as though you are simply trying to borrow too much with your income and history.

It’s pretty obvious at this point
