IPO lock-up period for a significant amount of shares ends pretty soon (I think late May, 6 months after IPO), be careful out there..
Funds who bought on the private market pre IPO will (smartly) likely show their weak hands, especially in the this type of volatile bear market

Ford and JP Morgan are unloading all of their shares starting on Monday.
IF ANYONE has shares in RIvian you better dump them on Monday ASAP.
“JPMorgan Chase also plans to sell a Rivian share block of between 13 million and 15 million for an unknown seller, sources told Faber. Both blocks of stocks are priced at $26.90 a share.“

Ford has 102 million shares and are reported to be selling only 8 million. Whether they'll sell more, we'll see.
I'm not invested in Rivian and don't plan to be but it will be interesting to hear their guidance after Q1 financials are released Wed. The projection was for 40,000 vehicles produced in the first year of production, which would put the current market cap at 9x sales, which would be arguably reasonable but the current economic climate could definitely cause that sales projections to be revised down. The mitigating factor could be the growth of EV sales though.
They had $18 billion on hand at the beginning of the year, burning almost $400 million a month, plus they'll need to come up with $3.5 billion for the new Georgia plant and some of that will surely be financed at higher interest rates.

40k is what they originally projected for their first 12 months of production.
I missed it but they lowered guidance in April because of supply chain issues and their most recent guidance was for 25,000 vehicles this year.

this is getting destroyed pre-market. (combination of lock-up expiration and Ford selling it seems)

What a beauty. We needed this kind of reckoning. Look at all the tech stocks over the past two years. The chart now shows a huge mountain, and I love it.
