Does anyone know with certainty what this reading would be? After two minutes of googling how to read the meter, the number I get is not close to the numbers on bill. Thanks in advance

0274? Reading right to left?

My meter doesn't look like that so I'm just guessing.

Why does your water meter say cubic feet instead of gallons?

Your water meter should be under ground , probably close to the street, in between you and your neighbors house

The reading on that meter is 4720, but I assure you it is for your gas and not for your water

And just guessing, your water bill is high because of a running toilet

That link is for New York, not New Orleans. New Orleans sells gallons according to their website.

One cubic foot equals about 7 1/2 gallons of water, some municipalities use cubic feet for water, although in this case he is looking at his gas meter

I doubt that the water guy is looking at the wrong one.

Are you sure they look at it? They don't look at my parents very often and charge ridiculous bills assuming people don't argue.
