Update in OP

Hmm, interesting. If I opt to keep & fix, but no fix is presently available, it seems like I can just keep driving while pocketing VW's cash. And if no fix is ever approved, what happens then? Will VW buy back my vehicle in 2 years when they can't make it meet emission standards?

I also noticed they're using clean trade value. Not retail.

Blue book on my car is like 5-6k max since it has so many miles and is a 2011. But that link says even an 09 Jetta would be worth at least 12k? How are they figuring that?

Our 2013 had about 80k on it when the scandal broke. Current NADA clean trade has it at $10,775 for 80k miles. Assuming the vehicle has lost about 15% of its value due to the scandal, that would put ours at around $12,400 buyback plus the TBD cash compensation.

Welp, guess I'm a environmental criminal...

Yeah, I'm an environmental criminal driving a 2 liter engine getting 55 mpg.....while I'm surrounded by freakin' commuters driving heavy-duty diesel trucks that don't have to meet passenger car emissions standards. And those idiots who are rollin' coal...
