Anyone plan on buying this when trading starts? Thoughts on its growth?

Buy at pre-market, sell before 3 pm. Take the day’s 30-70% gains and run.

Good luck getting your hands on it at 45

So how does it work? I've never bought IPO stock before. Who gets dibs at 45? I assume demand will drive the price up or down quickly but does anyone actually get it at the supposed 45 tag?

Ummm yes I know a little I’ll spend $1000 at say $50, or at least have a limit order in, if the price exceeds that and I can’t get it at a decent price, I don’t buy. If If I buy, Sell if it hits 50%....it’ll pay for a nice dinner this weekend

Between lawsuits, strikes and what they lose overseas in China, no chance their value is $45

Doesn't appear it'll have the initial pop, and might even start trading below the 45.

As I said in the Lyft thread: this seems like a commodity now. I get out my phone and have Lyft and Uber bid for the lowest price.

How or who determines how many shares there are to begin with? And who holds all of those shares at opening?

The company determines how many shares they want to offer at the IPO. They are company shares until someone else buys them.

So the company makes sure to have say more than 50% so that no one person can buy them out fully to become majority? And the rest the public can own?

its a public company now...there is nobody to "buy out". you could buy all 1.7B shares today if you wanted to, assuming the current owners of those shares wanted to sell them
