Obviously a lot of bad news recently - layoffs, suspended dividends.

Hovering between $19-21 past few weeks.

Most analysts I've seen say the price target for 2025 is around $25.

anyone have thoughts on the future of Intel?

Was reading an article this morning, that they are going to get kicked off the Dow Jones Index soon.

There hasn’t been any positive news for intel in quite some time. It also seems like there are growing complaints about defects in their current gen cpus which has surprisingly remained under the radar. I’d bet on a recall being the next shoe to drop for them.

dying company with corporate rot that has set in from years of being the incumbent leader. I would expect them continue to underperform and eventually be left behind due to lack of innovation. This opinion is based solely on gut feeling and I have done absolutely no DD on intel whatsoever, FWIW

18A yields are looking good with multiple tape out's. Will be big for them if that comes online next year.

Sinking ship, don't even try to jump on.

AMD has continued to grow, their chips have continued to outperform intel's over the pasts 5 years if not longer.

Down 60% YTD. That kind of move in a blue chip stock can only be caused by heavy institutional selling. It's much easier to go with the flow these institutions create than to try to pick bottoms.

I read Intc is currently in the same situation as AMD about 20yrs ago and the CEOs current recovery pitch is also the same one that almost destroyed AMD.

The company’s prospects I can’t speak to. As for the stock, it’s been a tumbling piece of hot coal for awhile. More than a few here have tried to catch it. One poster had a high opinion of it when it was in the low 30s, mainly because of the $280 billion CHIPS and Science Act. As best I remember, that was also before the dividend cut.

Anyway, the thing with trying to catch a hot coal, although it may be cooling (may not fall much farther), that doesn’t mean that it’s cold to the touch (poised to go up anytime soon). I’d rather buy stock in a good company at a fair price, rather than something like this. But just my 2 cents.

News today is they're spinning off their foundry portion. All those new fabs they've been building in PHX, Ohio, and Israel may now have some payback instead of cost, cost, cost. I'm going in as soon as I can sell off some profit makers. Looking at over a year time frame.

Earnings after the bell.
I'm in at 19.74 and will probably sell the news, especially if good.
