I'm expecting some kind of stock rally since it will hobble the spending binge. Having a foolish spending binge while the Fed fights inflation with interest hikes looks to me to be the height of economic stupidity.

Is the house changing some sort of unpredictable event the markets wouldn’t have priced in?

I expect nothing because this should be baked in following the elections in November right?

If anything, there feels like a pessimistic mood headed into this week.

I got gas for $3.20 / gallon this AM. Same gas station was $2.79 a couple weeks ago. That’s 15%.

Inflation will continue to choke the economy.

Rice Delman once pointed out that D-R-D (President-Senate-House) has never happened, and for the other 7 combinations the average S&P return is within 2 percentage points. So don't get emotional because you like/dislike the election results.

They already crushed the rally by dropping a 1.7tril spending bill

I remain cautiously optimistic due to Rhinos like McConnel, Cassidy, etc. but let's get going with the business at hand.
Stop the bleeding of our country and get us back to being the greatest country in the world.
