to Chairman Bernanke!

Fed doing its job

quote:

WASHINGTON – The Federal Reserve says the government is prepared to rescue any of the banks that underwent "stress tests" and were deemed vulnerable if the recession worsened sharply. The Fed says the 19 companies that hold one-half of the loans in the U.S. banking system won't be allowed to fail — even if they fared poorly on the stress tests.

God Bless Chairman Ben!!!

ETA: And bless you, Admins!!

Lol, we're going to pretend to see if you're viable, but even if you aren't, we still are gonna waste money on you.

This guy is not taking the FEDs shite:

quote:

TCF Chairman and CEO William A. Cooper said the bank had maintained a strong capital position over the last year through its own operations, and it didn’t need to rely on the public capital infusion to continue its traditional lending pace. Cooper said TCF is the largest bank to pay back TARP funds to the U.S. Treasury. TCF’s executives had complained that Treasury and the U.S. Congress had subverted the TARP program by changing its rules after banks had joined.

From your link, that bank will be required to cut its dividend as a condition of repaying the TARP money to Treasury.
Here's a comment posted on the link:
quote:

" Hmmmm. Since the Treasury Dept. seems to like to change the rules after the fact, I suggest that Mr. Cooper do the same. Once his check for $361 million clears, he should reinstate the dividends. Let's see if Tim has the guts to do anything then. "

So, your idea of a free market is one where the central bank shuts down one of the largest 19 currently viable banks in the country just because it does not do well on a "what if" scenario/model designed by confessed tax evader Timothy Geithner, even if some or all of the "what if" assumptions never take place?

Damn right! That's why I own so much stock in companies rather than shorting those companies' stock and hoping they fail!!

The last refuge of a scoundrel is the wrap of the flag. You don't have a clue what the flag of America means since you are obviously in the employ of other, larger, scoundrels.

I hope you succeed in kissing enough butts to gain entry into the larger scoundrels ranks but unfortunately the entire QE scheme is going to blow up and take the US economy down with it.

You can then use your stocks for toilet paper or kindling. At that point you can return to asking 'would you like fries with that?'...which is what you should have been doing all along.

So that Rivers can understand what I'm saying, this means WEN is (almost) technically bankrupt.

Russian, you're freaking hilarious. But to be fair, I don't think you should be calling out Rivers based on what you said above.
