This industry is going to end up being pennies per trade.

Wouldn't shock me d they'd still be profitable.

That said, pennies per trade would make stock market "gambling" a problem.

I use Fidelity for my trading account and did not know this. I just checked and you are right, $4.95 per trade. This is not a huge thing for me because I thought $7.95 was pretty cheap.

What's the catch here? Is execution not as good? Can you trade options? Do they have margin availability? Always been curious about this site.

Not sure what all you can do in regards to margin and options. I do know it doesn't have anywhere near the data/research that is available through Fidelity. I use Fidelity for the majority of my investments and Robinhood for "play money" but use Fidelity to research stocks that I then buy on Robinhood.

Charles Schwab follows suit.
Forbes Article

I'm currently with TD Ameritrade but it appears I'm renegotiating fees or moving elsewhere.

thats still entirely too much, go to interactive brokers its significantly less but there are either account minimums $100k or x amount of monthly trades to avoid the inactive fee.

I pay notta for trades, it is part of my work funded 401K UBS account that charges .75% a year....so I guess it's really not nothing.

I need to check what I do but I get unlimited trades with Morgan Stanley. Forget if I pay a % or a yearly amount though for the brokerage

Ib is awesome if you're an active trader I love them they have tons of stocks that E*TRADE doesn't have to short, shld,Sears was one I couldn't borrow till I switched. I've noticed margin requirements vary as well tesla was 40% at Etrade and 25% at ib. Ib also pays me a dividend on my tesla shares in this program where the shorts pay to borrow your shares and pay you interest you split with ib. I can't say enough about them can't believe I wasted so much time at etrade
