Whats the board normally do with stock they have from a former employer? Do you hold and let it ride or do you move into a diversified account?
A little context. Down 25% w/ quarterly dividend around 1.5%
Do you take the loss for tax purposes and roll into VOO, or let it sit and hope it comes back down the line.

Depends - how do you feel that company will do long term? Often people feel like the company is going downhill and that’s part of why they leave. I wouldn’t want to hold the stock if I felt that way

It may go back to pre-dip level eventually, but think where I got in based off options is the top.

Would you want to own it otherwise?
No, I wouldn't go out and buy it otherwise.

Do you own it at a discount to current price?
No, the discount was 15-25% higher than is now, depending on the shares
ETA: Grok is telling me to take the loss, offset other gains this year, reinvest the proceeds into VOO, and then take the 3k/year deduction until the loss is run out. Don't know if I trust our AI overlords.

Sounds like the right route. You've also probably told grok more about your financial picutre so it can make a better estimated route.

100%. Not gonna be a lot on here. It’s not money I rely on, but would like to maximize what it’s doing.

I instantly sell all my stocks that vest with my current employer. I'm already exposed to it.
As for former employer, the question is simple if you had that value in cash would you buy that same stock with all of it? Answer is highly doubtful.
Now that's not considering any potential tax ramifications. Which, that can be a significant factor.
