McDonald's has the best one in the world and CVS has one of the top ones as well.

Burger King and Walgreen's don't even try to compete, they just build right next door.

I had heard about McDonald's before, interesting to know that CVS is so far ahead of walgreens.

Right back atcha.

How is that? Seriously? If you don't think they're competing against McDonald's and the only thing that matters is their performance relative to themselves, well then I guess that's your opinion, its just one the financial world does not share. My statement was matter of factual in you saying this was not the case, yours was over-the-top and completely inapplicable. Our statements were not similar in any way.

MCD's founder said that he's in the real estate market, not the fast food market.

They are the actually publicly traded corporation draws almost all of it's revenue through the rental agreements on every mcdonalds. They handpick the standards the restaurant can use and select the location then just basically rent the man with the franchise money the building and business strategy.

I've heard of it but considering they closed a lot of stores a few years ago, it would seem that they get it wrong too.

They closed a lot of stores due to the economy collapsing. Few people saw it coming. Many Starbucks should re-evaluate their location since much has changed in some parts of the US.

Quick google says July 2, 2008. They closed stores because they overexpanded; the economy "collapsed" 3 months after they announced it when Lehman did the deed. There's not one, but two places in Houston not 5 minutes from my apartment (and thus not 5 minutes from each other) that have two starbucks on the same corner.

Question: How in the frick is that Albertsons still open on College Dr. in BR? I thought for sure Walmart would impose it's intergalactic dominance and squeeze it out.

I guess the thought of sharing oxygen with the Walmart clientele is actually enough of a customer sell for a higher $$ competing business?

I would find out where chick fil a is planning on putting a new store and build around that. I see starbucks right next to chick fil a's everywhere so I imagine they look for the same types of things when placing new stores. And lets be honest, have you ever been to a chick fil a that wasnt packed?

They built a McD's on the corner of Lee and Burbank in like 1995 when there was NOTHING there. Everything was woods. I imagine they got the land for cheap and now have it surrounded by hungry college students.
