Anyone concerned about SCHW?
The market sure seems to be.

Schwab expecting Q1 of 10% growth, reassured they will not need to move any of their HTM. Claim they have the liquidity to get by these times.
Also just upgraded to buy from Citibank with target of $75

That’s my brokerage lol. I really never want to have to learn the particulars of SIPC insurance for brokerage accounts and retirement accounts.

It’s our brokerage as well.
I’ve had nothing but great dealings with them for 30 yrs.

if Schwab was ever allowed to fail I think we are fully into catastrophe mode. I’m not gonna sweat anything at the moment

Im not really worried about them. But their statement reassuring the market this morning has me slightly concerned. They pointed out that their loan portfolio is over collateralized with first liens and securities so they have other means to raise capital no need to sell long term treasuries like SVB.

Yeah our Retirement plan is handled by Lincoln financial and they are getting Hammered. I'm down big on this stock.

The market seems to be pricing in a huge dollar drop coming. Bitcoin and precious metals are flying.
Market knows the Fed is cornered and will protect the stability of the system at all costs. Inflation be damned.
This is exactly what the market is saying.

All of these financials are going to be forced to dilute the hell out of their existing shareholders by the Fed as a condition of buying their underwater MBS holdings at Par.
Biden Yellen et al have specifically stated that depositors will be protected but not investors.
Im sure Nancy and Paul are loaded to the gills shorting every financial that will use the Fed window for the par exchange. They'll buy leaps on the beat down financials that dont partake in the deal, thus wont be required to dilute shareholders to raise capital (those banks will issue preferreds instead)

Yikes, Schwab going under would be a cluster of epic proportion.
