You can’t leverage when buying options. They have a 100% requirement.

Interesting. Surprised things like this haven’t been brought to light more frequently. I am sure it goes on and the companies just don’t want others to know about it.
If they miss on their trades they just file for bankruptcy protection and move on like companies do when they wipeout shareholders.

Wait!
It was an "army".
Now it's your "team"? ...
"your team" ... on Robinhood?
So ... 'dude' ... as you chose to knight for what by all appearances is a group of investing imbeciles, a couple of things:
(1) You know this stuff is tracked. Right?
(2) The tracking numbers don't lie. There are currently 163,490 poor fools stuck holding HTZ on Robinhood.
(3) Unless the shorts squeezed were also Robinhood traders, ~160,000 of the afore noted fools are simple FOMOs, aka "bagholders". You follow?
(4) Roughly 100K of RH FOMOs initiated positions at $2.57 or above. There is no circumstance, zero, where those shareholders will ever get a recovery once a plan of reorganization with creditors is agreed upon. That point is a few months from now. So hopefully your RH brethren will have sense enough to vacate their HTZ positions.
(5) Meanwhile, the fact that your "army", your "team", you individually, or most likely just your imagination transact at all on Robinhood speaks volumes. Anyone who would remain on a platform that crashed multiple times on some of the most volatile days in market history is nuts.
(6) If you actually do eventually get around to investing real money, and if you choose to handle your own account(s) at all, do it on a reliable service. There are plenty out there: TDAmeritrade, Schwab, Interactive Brokers, Fidelity, even ETrade.

robinhood appears to have two main businesses objectives
1) harvest and sell financial data and trading activity
2) expose prey to predators
it’s brilliant

I learned my lesson on options the hard way. It taught me to not get emotional about trading (I ironically bought some calls as the market tanked due to Covid). I now do very little option trading and its for money I can lose.

Now you won’t get me defending Mr. Perfect, but I also don’t think bagging on users of Robinhood is especially constructive either. Granted a lot of them are idiots, who will lose everything and would on any platform. Pretending that you are “better” or more knowledgeable because of the brokerage you use just comes off as arrogant and pompous.
I opened my first Scottrade (now TDA) account 20 years ago and up until RH came around they were still charging 6 bucks per trade!!!! Furthermore, any platform that succeeds in getting more people interested in investing and learning is a good thing and RH does just that. As they grow, they move on from it. But don’t be THAT guy.

Have you guys considered the possibility that you’re arguing with an El Gaucho alter?

Summer of 2015 was really bad when it went black.
ETA...I think they (ST) were hacked that year also if I remember correctly

So I've used discount houses since the dial-in, precomputer platform days. Started with Waterhouse. I've used Fidelity (past), and still use Schwab and TDAmeritrade. TTBOMK, we've never had an experience like that.
EVER!
In the case of a repeat offender like RH, my money/holdings/business would be out of there at lightspeed. Shutdown of our transactions during volatile days, as occurred with RH, would have cost us a ton of money.
Posted on 6/17/20 at 3:15 pm to NC_Tigah
Meanwhile, Hertz halted its plan to sell $500 million in shares pending SEC review which probably saved RH FOMO's a lot of money.

Then surely you remember what they charged per trade then right????? Yeah, used to cost about 15 bucks to buy and sell a single stock. Let’s not act like everyone just quit gouging us out of kindness. Occasionally businesses come along that are known as disrupters. Ask a NYC cab medallion holder about one in particular called UBER.
Guess what? RH did the same for investing.
Like I said the only thing I’ve ever used was Scottrade/TDA. My son uses Robinhood. It’s an easy format for him to learn on. And his friends do it. It’s “free” and it’s “cool”. So why does anyone else care about RH users? Don’t use it, and get over yourselves.

wonder if your son in our rh trading army.
