I think there were some reverse splits in there to keep it from being a fractional penny stock.
I followed CHK for a while. CHK has a fairly interesting corporate history culminating with McClendon suiciding himself into the underpass of highway or interstate. They leassed up all kinds of stuff at the height of crude/NG prices back in 10/11 and then it all came crashing down.

All equity interests in the company will be cancelled, with the holders of the equity receiving nothing in return. Given the firm’s high leverage, this isn’t all that surprising, but it’s not always the case that investors get nothing. Sometimes they will receive warrants or the ability to participate in the rights offering. Once in a great while, they will receive direct ownership over a minority of the company. None of this is happening in Chesapeake’s case though.
what happened with the CHK shares that were outstanding? Did they all go to zero? Did all the RHers get out?
LOL

There is also a motto on wall street, I think it is the bigger fool theory You may want to look it up. LOL

Oil market is over supplied at $40 a barrel. Very few if any US Shale companies can survive sub $60 for a year or two. I’m expecting CHK to be filing for bankruptcy again in a year or two.
