I opened an savings account at Eagle FCU today, and she ran my credit repost, not bad, but I'm trying to raise my credit score. She tells me about this loan that I can get, but I only get the money after I pay the loan off. By paying it on time it gets reported to the bureaus, and it helps to raise my score. Anyone ever heard of this?

After you pay what off? The bank didn't give you any money to pay back. In that scenario you would just be handing them over interest and getting nothing.

I think you might have misunderstood what she was explaining.

it pretty much sounds like that is just buying a higher credit score

This is a bit strange. I'd get it in writing, then take it to a competitor and see what they think.

If it's legitimate they'll bargain with you. If it isn't legit you probably won't get it in writing, and you should have a talk with this person's supervisor.

With all due respect, I suspect you misunderstood something. I don't see how someone can report your performance on a loan if they didn't give you the money ahead of time. That wouldn't be a loan, would it?

I def need help. Score got bad, because while I was int he Military my fiancee was spending my money on herself and another dude. Got it a little higher. But I have no way to raise my credit score. Don't want to fall into the credit card trap, and car is paid off, not in a rush to get into another payment trap for 6 years.
