Old silver coins, what to do with them?

Just hold on to them?
My grandfather saved a bunch and when he passed everyone in the immediate family got a share.
I've somewhat held them for sentimental value/(I think they are cool)... but more so just cause I haven't researched what to do with them.
I know I need to go through them and check for any rare ones that might be extra valuable. Anyone got a good online source for that by chance?
After that I know they are worth a decent amount just for the silver in them.
Quarters, dimes, nickles, half dollars, dollars, etc... if they made it there are some in there pretty much.
Thanks.

I'd keep them as they'll hold value (silver) pretty well and be good to pass sown to your heirs. If space is a concern, then I'd look for errors and sell the rest to your local coin shop.

Pre-1964 US coinage typically contains 90% silver. (Not the nickels) Dealers refer to this as “junk silver”
The current value is about 19 times face value …. and regularly fluctuates based on the market spot price of silver.

Hold them. I’ve held every silver piece I’ve ever metal detected. Had a boss one time that would line up all his quarters in his hand and look for the one with a shiny edge.

Melt down and cast some silver bullets for the inevitable zombie and werewolf apocalypse

We can add to list that Sofi doesn’t even have safe deposit boxes. So you can’t put them in there either.
Why even bank with them?

Well-composed response.
I thought this was an old thread and your response was actually mine.
OP: Don’t sell it, just hang on to it.
Your Gramps probably thought of passing those coins down to you guys for the past 60 years as a tangible reminder of him to you guys.
