Is anyone worried about both or either one?

I know that oil is at a rare low and probably going to continue to drop

It's suppose to be the second largest day of the stock dropping

Are people worried that this will effect the whole economy or just the oil industry?

You god damn right I'm worried about both, half my portfolio is energy related!

But honestly I'm still way ahead from the last 6 years but getting a bit nervous. The key is to try and time the bounce and buy.

I give it till next year we will be back up to 3.50 a gallon. One thing i have learned over the years it takes a lot longer for prices to drop a dollar then for it to go up a dollar.

this is just my opinion

one more attempt to rally in stock market then it's done

i understand that people with disagree - will gladly come back in a year to revisit this prediction

And that is when the smart people will come in an invest heavy in trusted oil companies who have seen their stock hurt during a temporary period of shock.

It might not be any time soon, but the prices will go back to normal eventually, and those who invested in the strong companies who have seen a temporary drop will be rewarded in the long run IMO.

There will come a point when people start buying to get in on a declining market especially something like oil. It will inevitably go back up. Once a few hedge funds start pumping big $ into a few of these companies, it will start trending the other way.

There will be some companies that don't make it though, and could possibly be sold to some larger companies which would only help boost the larger company's portfolio. Companies like USEG for example or HNR might not be able to take it much longer.

I've already invested in a few.

Take a look at these, and then look at some of their 5 year histories. US OIL AND GAS STOCKS

Panhandle Oil and Gas Co. just did a 2 for 1 split in Sep of this year. They just released their Fiscal 2014 results. LINK It's not a bad company to put a little money in right now.

I can honestly say that I knew little about investing until this semester reading The Richest Man in Babylon and the Intelligent Investor.

I am hoping that after 10 or so years of investing will allow me to pay of my student loan debt faster than I could without investing.

I am waiting for CVX to hit $99, and I'm buying. Multi-year lows, folks.

He probably buys when companies are at all-time highs because they must be doing something right, and panics when there is a red day because that hundred year old business must be failing all the sudden.

When you think we hit bottom I recommend DBO. It is actively managed to track crude, and it's been doing a damn good job of it for the past 6-8 weeks. I've been watching since it was around $23...it touched upper $16s today.

Not leveraged.
