That is phenomenal. Thank you for sharing.

Was planning to do that next week, brother. Just wanted to get some discussion kicked off.

Great point.
I'd prefer not to look it up because I'm interested in great discussion and dialogue here. Very interesting topic.

Sadly State gave up our bid in 1959, 1961 and 1962. We could potentially have 7-8 more games played. The 1962 team finished 24-1 and ranked third in the country and turned down a bid. How crazy is that looking back on it. That team had a very legit chance to win it all and was denied the chance by our State Government and College Board.
Oh wow. I did not know that. What was the reasoning behind this?
Why is that my friend?
I did, however, clarify the Sewanee note and placed the "regular season" qualifier in there to ease any confusion since I did go off on a bit of a Sewanee tangent there.

From 2012-2015 SCAR went 11-9. Alabama went 15-6. That's pretty outstanding.

This is true brother. However, A&M finished 119th in pass defense in 2005. That was last in the nation that season.
I would say Oklahoma’s would be getting revenge vs Texas in the Big 12 title game.
As we enter the time of year where Tennessee football dominates, let us reflect on it
Posted by Sean Bean on 12/8/18 at 1:21 pm
A few notes on the dominance Tennessee has displayed during bowl season recently...
>Tennessee is currently tied for the longest bowl winning streak among SEC schools.
>Since 2011 they are one of eight FBS schools to have played in two or more bowl games and have a win% of 1.000.
>They have held the banner for the SEC over that span, defeating 3 Big Ten schools in bowl match-ups.
But don't let this distract you from the fact that Tennessee has lost to Vanderbilt 3 straight years... Auburn and Kentucky are the only SEC schools to have longer losing streaks against Vanderbilt over the last 80 years.
Oh... Vanderbilt will be making its 5th bowl appearance since 2011. Tennessee has been to 3.

UConn: Worst defense of all-time?
Posted by Sean Bean on 10/6/18 at 8:22 pm
So, I know I mentioned this in another thread a few weeks ago, but I feel this needs revisiting.
UConn, through 5 games, has allowed 663 yards per game.
The NCAA Record in a single season is 2015 Kansas' 560 YPG.
Here are the yardage totals for their opponents this season
UCF: 652
Boise St: 818
Rhode Island: 550
Syracuse: 636
Cincinnati: 659
They haven't held a team under 49 points this season. They are allowing 53.4 PPG.
The NCAA record for PPG allowed is 50.3 held by Louisiana (1997).
Through the first 8 minutes of the 3rd Qtr tonight against Memphis, it is going about as expected: 534 yards, 48 points
I'm just perplexed at how an FBS defense could be so awful. I couldn't imagine the frustration watching that as a fan...

Through the first 8 minutes of the 3rd Qtr tonight against Memphis, it is going about as expected: 534 yards, 48 points
I'm just perplexed at how an FBS defense could be so awful. I couldn't imagine the frustration watching that as a fan...

I can do total drops as well. I thought a percentage was a little more telling... Ex: Mizzou throws the ball more so of course they lead in total drops.

UConn’s historically bad defense
Posted by Sean Bean on 9/23/18 at 1:10 am
Connecticut has allowed 664 yards per game through their first 4 games. The most any team has given up in their first 4 over the last 10 years
Here’s what teams have put up on them so far:
Boise: 818
UCF: 652
Syracuse: 636
Rhode Island: 550
The most a team has given up since 2005 is ‘15 Kansas (who gave up 561 yards per game) in one of their winless seasons.
Is there a worse defense out there over the last 50 years or so?
